Welcome to ICI’s Ready By Five (RB5) Program

Our primary program is Ready by Five (RB5) where we focus on preschool-age children because studies show nearly 50% of Gwinnett’s children are 30% or more behind their peers upon entering Kindergarten.

This free nine-week program is for families with children up to Kindergarten age (and somewhat older) who will attend Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS).

Applications for enrollment for our 2025 Winter programs will be accepted from October 28, 2024 through December 20, 2024.

Classes are held on Saturday mornings. A parent must attend with the student. This way the parent learns how best to help, teach, and engage with their children.

During the program, it is so exciting to watch parents and students come to classes on Saturdays, eager to learn. It is so fulfilling to see those same parents and students leave at the end of the day, and at the end of the program; smiles on their faces and gleams of confidence in both sets of eyes!

This program is run in partnership with Gwinnett Building Babies' Brains (GBBB) and the Jackson EMC Foundation, funded by the contributions of the cooperative/s members.

Applications for Teachers and Paraprofessionals for our Winter 2025 program will be accepted from October 14, 2024 through December December 1, 2024.

Welcome to ICI’s English Language Learner (ELL) Classes

Our longest-running program is an English Language Learner (ELL) program and is open to all adults.

Our students are taught in a classroom by an experienced teacher. We provide a substantial snack during which our students have the opportunity to practice what they have learned and commune with faculty, staff, and other students.

These free classes are held most Sundays during the Gwinnett public school year from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm in the Gateway Circle Business Park at 6500 McDonough Dr, #D9, Norcross, GA 30093.

Classes started on the first Sunday after Labor Day, (September 8th, 2024) each year and run until just before the winter break. (December 15, 2024)

They begin again on the first Sunday after the Gwinnett public schools reopen to students in January of each year (January 12, 2025) and run through the Sunday before Mother’s Day in May. (May 4, 2025)

We hold open enrollment throughout each semester, space permitting.

Use of masks, frequent hand washing, and/or hand sanitizer is strongly encouraged. Use of social distancing, disinfectant, and other precautions will be made, as needed, to ensure the safety of all.

In this program you will learn to:

  • speak English in a classroom setting; and
  • socialize with others like yourself, who also want to learn to speak English;

                                    AND

You will take a 30-minute break and eat a hearty snack while you socialize with your classmates and teachers.

Come learn English, make new friends, and share a snack. There are no attendance requirements and the classes and snacks are FREE.

There is a cost for the purchase of books for the class level to which you are assigned.
